APT. CA
sea flat renovation
Arenzano, GE, Italy
2021 - realized
The present project concerns the renovation of an apartment in Arenzano, with a specific focus on merging the kitchen and living spaces. The main goal is to create a modern and functional environment where the kitchen becomes the heart of the living area, thanks to the implementation of innovative design.
One of the main changes made was the integration of the kitchen and living areas. This choice was motivated by the desire to create an open and welcoming environment, promoting socialization and the free flow of natural light. Dividing walls were removed to allow for a broader overall view and better interaction between the various functions of the apartment.
The kitchen system was completely rethought to optimize functionality. The central element of this renovation is the kitchen island, which acts as a filter between the living room and the cooking space. The island was designed not only as a practical element but also as a focal point of the overall apartment design.
To accentuate the modern aspect of the environment, the decision was made to use new black ceramic floorings that blend harmoniously with the existing Genoese beaten floors. This contrast between the classic and the contemporary creates a striking visual effect, giving the space a unique and distinctive character. A special addition to this renovation project is a spatial archway with a curtain closure, allowing seamless access from the living area. This solution provides flexible separation between the spaces, enabling an open area or a more intimate environment, depending on the needs.
